Intern/Extern Program

The Division 8 College of Judicial Knowledge

“Welcome my friends to the show that never ends. We’re so glad you could attend. Come inside. Come inside. Come inside” – Judge McKay Chauvin

It’s easy for grizzled courthouse veterans to forget just how intimidating a place this place can be. The Division 8 Intern/Extern program pulls back the curtain to allow law students to see what goes on behind the courtroom stage. Our goal is to both demystify and honor the important work that gets done in the courthouse in anticipation of these future lawyers and judges carrying on that noble tradition.

At the beginning of each school term we welcome another in a continuing series of interested and interesting externs from the Brandeis School of Law. We also host a pride of interns and externs from a variety of law schools each summer. The curriculum includes a tremendous amount of applied research and writing along with the chance to watch lawyers lawyering, witnesses witnessing and juries jurying.

If you are interested in an internship, an externship, or just want to spend some time watching the justice get made here in Division 8, please contact us through the CONTACT US page of this website or call us at (502) 595-4394.
